Spread over three movies and three weeks, R.L. Stine’s Fear Street for Netflix looks to keep horror fans pleasantly occupied for a while.
Based on the 90s teen horror novel series of the same name by best-selling author R.L. Stine, Fear Street is a trilogy of movies that follows a group of teenagers in the cursed town of Shadyside.
The town has been plagued by supernatural murders for 300 years, and now the evil has returned.
The teens will need to band together to uncover the mystery of the murders while navigating through puberty and trying to stay alive.
The Fear Street trilogy looks like a mix of slasher, supernatural, and period horror, with each film having its own style and setting while interconnecting with one another.
The first film is set in 1994, the second in 1978, and the third in 1666, with the plot moving between periods in each movie, it seems.
Releasing three films over three weeks feels like a unique movie event and should provide horror fans with plenty of entertainment over that period.
While the movies appear to feature many teen horror movie tropes, they still look like violent fun, and the various settings in the film should make for three distinct viewing experiences.
