‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ Behind-the-Scenes Video

jurassic world fallen kingdom trailer

The Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom behind-the-scenes video promises things we’ve never seen before from a Jurassic film, including more dinosaurs than ever!

Ahead of the worldwide trailer release tomorrow (8/12/18 in Oz), Universal Pictures has released this special video featurette for the upcoming sequel to 2015’s Jurassic World.

While that film had some cool visuals and some awesome action set-pieces, I thought it was a bit underwhelming overall.

Thankfully this new video has piqued my interest for its sequel, with the biggest change coming by way of director.

The film’s new director, J.A. Bayona, just sounds like he knows what he’s doing, and his push towards more tension and terror in this film is music to my ears.

His past films The Impossible (2012) and this year’s A Monster Calls are both great films to check out in preparation for the Jurassic sequel.

The first Jurassic World film felt a bit too kid-friendly for my liking, and it sounds like Fallen Kingdom may be more adult-friendly.

The use of plenty of animatronic dinosaurs is a welcoming inclusion in this film, adding more of an ‘authentic’ feel that harkens back to Spielberg’s original Jurassic Park (1993), where animatronic dinosaurs were the norm.

Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, and B. D. Wong are back reprising their roles from the first film in this sequel, and they’re joined by a supporting cast that includes Toby Jones, Rafe Spall, Justice Smith, Daniella Pineda, Ted Levine, Geraldine Chaplin, James Cromwell and, Jeff Goldblum.

Fans of the original films will be glad to see Goldblum back reprising his role as the fan favourite character Dr. Ian Malcolm, and it’s great to see James Cromwell back in a major motion picture film.

Check back tomorrow for the full first trailer, before the film releases in June of 2018.
