Acclaimed director Christopher Nolan’s latest film Dunkirk get its first official main trailer and I’m not sure what to make of it as yet.
I wholeheartedly love Christopher Nolan’s catalogue of films, however I couldn’t find a lot to get excited about after seeing this new trailer for his latest.
Maybe it was the way it was edited, or simply it could simply be a case of war movie fatigue.
Dunkirk tells the story of 400,000 allied soldiers trapped on the island of Dunkirk, surrounded by enemy forces during the early stages of World War 2.
Seemingly doomed, allied forces send troops to rescue them; this is the story of that rescue.
This would be Chris Nolan’s first attempt at a war film, so it makes me wonder whether or not he just had to get it out of his system, as judging by the trailer it doesn’t look very Nolan-esque.
Either way, he’s still one of the greatest working directors today, so it will be a must-see when it hits cinemas on 20 July 2017.
The film stars Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Mark Rylance and Kenneth Branagh.
