‘Death Note’ – Trailer for Netflix Original Fantasy-Horror Film

death note trailer

Based on the Japanese Manga series of the same name, Death Note is the latest upcoming film to feature in Netflix’s growing Original film cataologue.

Death Note sees a young man come across a book, aptly titled Death Note, that grants him the power to kill anyone whose name he writes down in the book.

He decides to use the book to rid the world of criminals, while police are hot on his trail.

It’s quite a unique concept, especially for anyone that hasn’t heard about the series yet, as not only is it based on a Manga comic series, but there have also been many film and anime adaptations of it.

That should change once the film is released on 25 August 2017, to an enormous worldwide Netflix audience.

Directing is Adam Wingard, who made a name for himself in the B-grade horror film circuit, having directed some awesome films like You’re Next (2011) and The Guest (2014), both of which went on to become cult classics.

More recently he directed the Blair Witch (2016) remake (see our review here) and has signed on to direct the 2020 blockbuster Godzilla vs. Kong.

A bright future for this director indeed, so it will be interesting to see how Death Note goes, as it looks pretty cool.

The film stars Nat Wolff, Margaret Qualley, Keith Stanfield, Paul Nakauchi, Shea Whigham and Willem Dafoe as the creepy death-dealing entity (pictured above).
