Daniel Radcliffe and Samara Weaving star in the new action-comedy film Guns Akimbo, and if this new trailer is anything to go by, you can expect it to be completely bonkers.
Radcliffe plays Miles, a man stuck in a dead-end job who gets thrust into a violent real-life death-match that sees him forced to try and kill the internet sensation, Nix (Samara Weaving).
That’s what happens in the Guns Akimbo world – people are pitted against each other in combat to the death while being broadcast online to millions of fans.
With a pair of handguns bolted onto his hands, he’ll attempt to join forces with Nix in order to save his girlfriend who’s been kidnapped by the gang Skizm, who are the ones that set him up in the first place.
The film is written and directed by Jason Lei Howden, whose only other feature directing credit comes from 2015’s heavy-metal-themed action-horror-comedy, Deathgasm, which by all accounts is just as nutty of a movie.
Guns Akimbo is highly stylized and it looks like it could have been ripped right off the pages of a quirky comic-book.
It looks like it’ll be a violent and fun guilty-pleasure action film; a curious choice for Daniel Radcliffe though he does appear to be a good fit for the role.
Australia’s Samara Weaving is also a nice addition to the lead cast and she is just coming off starring in the action-horror film, Ready or Not (2019).
She’s also set for a role in the upcoming Bill & Ted Face the Music, a reboot of the hit comedy film series from the late 80s/early 90s that will see Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter reprise their roles from the original films (Weaving plays Alex Winters’ character’s daughter in the film).
Guns Akimbo is expected to launch on 28 February 2020.
