Ryan Gosling stars as the first man on the moon Neil Armstrong in Oscar-winner Damien Chazelle’s upcoming biopic, First Man.

First Man looks at the life of the first man to set foot on the moon, Neil Armstrong, and the events leading up to the Apollo 11 moon landing mission.

Famed director Damien Chazelle follows up La La Land (2016) and Whiplash (2014) with this biopic based on the 2005 novel ‘First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong’ by author James R. Hansen.

This second trailer is less tense than the first one, however, there is still plenty of drama on display.

First Man tackles the behind-the-scenes dangers of attempting a risky mission like the Apollo 11 moon landing, and the effects it has on the lives of the families of those involved.

Claire Foy plays Armstrong’s wife, Janet, with an outstanding supporting cast that includes Corey Stoll (as Buzz Aldrin), Kyle Chandler, Jason Clarke, Shea Whigham, and Christopher Abbott.

Chazelle’s first two films were phenomenal, and the early buzz around First Man has been universally positive.

Gosling has been nominated for two Oscars in the past for his roles in La La Land and Half Nelson (2006).

First Man could potentially get him the nod if it lives up to the early hype.

The film hits cinemas on 11 October 2018.
