Bill and Ted are back up to their old time travel antics in the third entry of the popular series, Bill & Ted Face The Music.
Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu Reeves) are older, yet not much wiser as they set out on a new time hopping adventure to save the world.
Their mission: to write an epic song that will bring harmony to the universe.
The problem being, however, that they have a very limited time to do it in, and the solution: travel to the future and steal the song from their future selves.
Now in middle-age and each with an adult daughter (Australia’s Samara Weaving and Brigette Lundy-Paine), Bill and Ted and their daughters embark on a journey through time and space, heaven and hell to set the world right.
Fans of Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure (1989) and Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey (1991) will instantly see the parallels between those films and this one, with the appearance of some historical figures, akin to Excellent Adventure, and the return of Death (William Sadler) from Bogus Journey.
It will be curious to see if other franchise stalwarts such as the alien, Station, and Rufus (the late George Carlin) will re-appear in some form to surprise fans.
Bill & Ted Face The Music looks like a lot of fun and should make for an enjoyable nostalgia trip for fans that grew up with the original films.
It releases in Australia from 27 August 2020 and in the US and VOD from 1 September 2020.
