The Bad Batch features a cool cast that includes Jason Momoa, Keanu Reeves, Giovanni Ribisi, Diego Luna, Jim Carrey and introduces Suki Waterhouse.
The first teaser trailer for this film will have you asking ‘What did I just watch?’.
It had me asking that, but I enjoyed it.
The film comes to us from writer/director Ana Lily Amirpour, whose first film A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (2014), was met with universal critical praise.
I wasn’t a huge fan of that film, but could understand why it would appeal to a lot of critics.
This is the director’s second feature film, and first to be featured in the English language.
Apparently it’s a dystopian thriller/romance film, set amongst a community of cannibals in a Texas wasteland.
The trailer paints a stunning visual image for the film, but doesn’t give too much away plot-wise.
One thing that can be said about it however, is that it has the potential to be pretty disturbing, so I’m looking forward to seeing some more material come out in the lead-up to the film’s release.
Unfortunately at this stage there’s been no release date set but it will likely release this year, so we’ll post more details as they emerge on this one.
