‘Arrival’ – Full Trailer and Posters

full trailer

The first full trailer for Denis Villeneuve’s science-fiction film Arrival is herein what appears to be a compelling take on the alien-invasion sub-genre.

For once we get what could be an intelligent alien-invasion film, as opposed to the balls-t0-the-wall action spectacles we’re used to.

Denis Villeneuve is known for his excellent, grounded drama films Prisoners and Sicario, however he definitely has the capacity for making a quality film with some ambiguous sci-fi elements, like with his film Enemy which starred Jake Gyllenhaal.

From what we can see in the Arrival trailer, it looks like the film will have more of a mainstream appeal, but will also retain the director’s signature style.

As a fan of science-fiction, a film such as this is always exciting to see, as the usual slate of similar films that fall into the blockbuster territory tend to fall below-par.

In Arrival, Amy Adams’ expert linguist character is recruited by American defence forces to try and communicate with an alien life force that has landed on Earth.

After seeing multiple alien spacecrafts land all across the world, the protagonists need to figure out why the aliens have arrived, whether it’s for peace, war, or otherwise.

The trailer sets the tone for the film and it appears to be fairly grounded with psychological elements, which is great.

Check out the awesome full trailer below, as well as a bunch of new, well-designed promotional posters for the film, which show the alien spacecrafts docked at the twelve locations around the world where they arrive at.

The film is due for release on 10 November 2016 in Australian cinemas.

IMDB Synopsis:

Taking place after alien crafts land around the world, an expert linguist is recruited by the military to determine whether they come in peace or are a threat.
