Arch enemies the Angry Birds and the Bad Piggies must unite to take on a common enemy in The Angry Birds Movie 2.
When a mutual enemy poses a threat to the world inhabited by the Angry Birds and the Bad Piggies, the two enemies must put aside their differences and join forces to save their land.
The film’s message is one that should resonate with its younger audience, teaching kids the value of friendship between two vastly different types of people/races etc.
It features some funny slapstick-style comedy that should also hit home with children, as well as some sneaky adult humour thrown in the mix for their parents.
The film is a sequel to The Angry Birds Movie (2016) and is directed by Thurop Van Orman.
It features the voices of Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Bill Hader and Peter Dinklage who reprise their roles from the first film.
Joining the cast are new members Leslie Jones, Awkwafina and Nicki Minaj amongst others.
The first film received mostly negative reviews from critics but managed to earn $352.3 million USD at the global box-office, making it the second-highest-grossing video game film adaptation of all-time.
Sure, this sequel likely won’t please many critics, but it doesn’t matter when it can pull that much money at the box office and the kids will certainly love it.
See it in cinemas from 12 September 2019.
