From DreamWorks and Pearl Studio comes the new animated fantasy-adventure film Abominable, featuring the mythical Yeti creature.
Yi (Chloe Bennet) encounters a young Yeti on the roof of her apartment building in Shanghai and sets out on a journey to reunite the mythical creature, christened ‘Everest’ by Yi and her friends, with its parents on the highest point on Earth.
Yi’s quest will put her on the path to self-discovery as she and her friends uncover a world of magic along the way.
Abominable is a co-production between DreamWorks and the Chinese production company Pearl Studio and is set to be distributed by Universal Pictures.
The film comes to us from the same team that brought us the How to Train Your Dragon (2010-19) franchise, which concluded with this year’s HTTYD 3: The Hidden World (2019).
The parallel’s between the tone of the HTTYD series and Abominable is apparent judging by the film’s trailer, so it should please that fanbase.
The film looks like it could be appealing to most audiences, with themes that should resonate across all age-groups.
It features the voice talents of Chloe Bennet, Albert Tsai, Tenzing Norgay Trainor, Eddie Izzard, Sarah Paulson, Tsai Chin and Michelle Wong.
See it in cinemas from 19 September 2019.
