Check out the new, funny red band trailer for Why Him? An upcoming comedy film starring James Franco, Bryan Cranston and Zoey Deutch.
Franco plays Laird, a tech-industry billionaire with no shame, who falls in love with Stephanie (Zoey Deutch); the daughter of an overprotective father named Ned (Bryan Cranston).
Laird tries to win over Ned’s and his family’s affection before asking Stephanie to marry him.
This looks pretty funny and features the same type of humour you can generally see in a James Franco comedy, which makes more sense when you consider that Jonah Hill was one of the writers of this film – so expect humour similar to 21 Jump Street (2012) and Sausage Party (2016) etc.
Judging by the trailer, Why Him? Looks like it will be the James Franco show, with most of the laughs originating from the actor, however it’s likely the trailer isn’t giving away everything, so there could be more laughs to come out of Cranston and the rest of the supporting cast.
The film is directed by John Hamburg, who also directed the comedy films I Love You, Man (2009) and Along Came Polly (2004); both enjoyable films.
Why Him? Stars James Franco, Bryan Cranston, Zoey Deutch, Adam Devine, Megan Mullally and Keegan-Michael Key and is due to hit Australian cinemas on 26 December 2016.
