The long awaited buddy-cop action film Bad Boys 3 has been pushed back to a 2018 release and has received a new title – Bad Boys for Life.
The film was originally scheduled to be released in February of 2017, but was then pushed back to June 2017, and finally again to January 2018.
The stars of 1995’s Bad Boys, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are set to reprise their roles in the third instalment, and Joe Carnahan, director of The Grey and The A-Team is set to direct.
The first film in the series, directed by Michael Bay was a huge success, so it’s a surprise he wasn’t asked back to direct part three, however he likely has his hands full with the Transformers franchise he’s been leading for the last nine years.
Joe Carnahan is definitely a director that can handle the project though and it’s being produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, so expect lots of action and explosions.
The hard part will be whether or not the film will be able to re-capture the dynamic between the two leads as it’s been almost twenty years since Bad Boys.
Will Smith has been keeping active but Martin Lawrence has been quiet over the last few years, however for these veteran actors, stepping back into these roles should be no problem at all.
Is anyone looking forward to this?
