The notorious Jigsaw killer torments unsuspecting victims in the new film Spiral, the next entry in the famed Saw horror film franchise.
Or does he?
We can see in the new trailer for Spiral that the Jigsaw killer is back; however, the recent murders may be copycat killings, considering Jigsaw has been long dead.
Or has he?
These films are always full of twists and turns so that anything can happen.
Spiral follows a group of police officers led by Detective Zeke Banks (Chris Rock) and his rookie partner William Schenk (Max Minghella) as they are thrust headfirst into the new sadistic killer’s games.
There’s a more personal element to the murders this time; however, as it appears, Zeke’s decorated police veteran father, Marcus (Samuel L. Jackson), is targeted by the murderer.
The film is directed by Darren Lynn Bousman, who’s directed three Saw sequels amongst many other horror films, which recently included Death of Me (2020).
Spiral’s new trailer gives audiences a good idea of the plot, with minimal glimpses of the blood and carnage we can expect, which is exciting as the trailer doesn’t give too much away.
The Saw horror films, started by Australian super-producers James Wan and Leigh Wannell, have always been known for their inventive, gruesome kills, and we can be sure to expect more of the same here.
Spiral is due in cinemas from 13 May 2021.
