Ford v. Ferrari is the exciting true story of automobile company Ford’s attempt at winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in France during 1966.
James Mangold, director of Logan (2017) and Walk the Line (2005) has gathered together a stellar cast that includes Matt Damon as engineer Carroll Shelby and Christian Bale as racecar driver Ken Miles.
Shelby and Miles pair up with the purpose of building a car that can rival the dominant Ferrari team at the famous Le Mans race, encountering a number of problems they must overcome to make sure the car is ready for race day.
The film follows the duo’s journey as they construct the car from scratch, with lots of fast paced racing action littered throughout the emotive trailer.
Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt were originally cast in the roles before dropping out, but after watching the trailer I’m sure you’ll agree Bale and Damon were the right choices.
Both are perfectly cast and bring a touch of class to the production, while director Mangold manages to capture the spirit of the 60’s with his bold and clever direction.
The cast also includes Jon Bernthal, Josh Lucas, Caitriona Balfe, Jonathan LaPaglia, Remo Girone and Ray McKinnon.
Expect this film to do well around award season.
Ford v. Ferrari will be in cinemas from 15 November 2019.
