Jeffrey Dean Morgan Tracks a Serial Killer in ‘The Postcard Killings’

The Postcard Killings trailer

Jeffrey Dean Morgan tracks down a serial killer in the new thriller The Postcard Killings, based on the #1 New York Times bestseller.

While a fan of Jeffrey Dean Morgan, he’s always come off as a poor man’s Javier Bardem due to the two looking very alike.

Bardem is an Oscar-winner continually starring in Hollywood hits, while Morgan is more of a B-lister featuring in a variety of straight-to-DVD titles whose biggest claim to fame is playing Negan in The Walking Dead.

The Postcard Killings doesn’t look like it will change Morgan’s career trajectory but offers enough to give the actor a chance to shine on the big screen as New York Detective Jacob Kanon.

Struggling to cope with the vicious murder of his daughter, Kanon soon discovers her death was the work of a serial killer who arranges his victims in the form of famous sculptures.

The killer’s calling card is a postcard he sends to journalists at the next city he plans to carry out a murder.

Kanon soon teams with a Scandinavian journalist and the two embark on a trek across Europe trying to stop the killings.

The trailer is what you would expect from this type of flick, but the fact it’s based on James Patterson’s and Liza Marklund’s #1 New York Times bestseller of the same name makes me hope this film will be thrilling enough to pass a couple of hours.

The Postcard Killings hits theatres on 13 March 2020.
