The horror movie franchise that refuses to die is back with the chilling seventh entry in the series, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.
The film follows real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga) as they tackle one of their most mysterious cases.
A young man is accused of a shocking murder and claims demonic possession as his defence.
Ed and Lorraine delve deep into the man’s story and discover some horrifying evidence to corroborate his claims.
Starting with 2013s The Conjuring from Australian director James Wan, the series has spawned multiple sequels and featured Wilson and Farmiga reprise their roles numerous times.
The films have set a new standard for what a mainstream horror film should be, for better or worse, as they all seem to contain the same types of clichéd scares.
Despite this, The Conjuring series has become super popular and kept horror relevant in mainstream cinema.
The latest entry, The Devil Made Me Do It, focuses on possession, which is a path these films have yet to go down.
It looks like a chilling, mysterious horror film and should please fans of the franchise when released on 3 June 2021.
Michael Chaves is at the helm, his most recent film being The Curse of La Llorona (2019), also part of The Conjuring universe.
