Don Cheadle leads a fantastic ensemble cast in Steven Soderbergh’s latest crime film, No Sudden Move.
A group of small-time crooks are hired to do a job in 1950s Detroit and, after the job goes haywire, are forced to find out who hired them, sending the criminals on a path of twists and turns and violence.
Acclaimed director Steven Soderbergh loves a good crime caper, with past hits like the Oceans (2001-07) trilogy and, more recently, the amusing Logan Lucky (2017).
This year, Soderbergh directs one of the better ensemble casts of recent times in a dramatic crime film full of dark humour, which should please his fans and fans of the genre.
No Sudden Move will attempt to tackle racial tensions in 50s-era Detroit while its characters find themselves in a comedy of errors.
The outstanding cast includes Don Cheadle, Benicio del Toro, David Harbour, Ray Liotta, Jon Hamm, Brendan Fraser, Kieran Culkin, Noah Jupe, Matt Damon, Bill Duke, Brendan Fraser, Amy Seimetz and Julia Fox.
It really is a cast for the ages, featuring cult-favourite actors from many generations and a nice touch with the inclusion of Brendan Fraser.
No Sudden Move is due for release on 1 July 2021, streaming exclusively on HBO Max.
