Lego mania has officially hit with two films based on the popular children’s building-block toys releasing in 2017, the second being The LEGO NINJAGO Movie.
The first is of course The LEGO Batman Movie which is due out soon, making it 3 films based in the Warner Bros. Pictures Lego movie franchise, in as many years.
This latest one follows a clan of ninjas out to defeat the evil warlord Garmadon (Justin Theroux), the father of the young ninja protagonist, the Green Ninja Lloyd (Dave Franco).
The Ninjago brand of Lego is all new to me, however the trailer for the upcoming film sold me on it pretty easily.
It appears to be a cool blend of traditional martial-arts genre mixed with futuristic elements (see the mechanical robots and setting in the trailer).
And as we can expect, the film appears to be full of humour, so it should all be a bit of fun.
Like the other Lego films in the franchise, this one has attracted an outstanding voice cast that includes Dave Franco, Justin Theroux, Fred Armisen, Abbi Jacobson, Olivia Munn, Kumail Nanjiani, Michael Peña, Zach Woods, and Jackie Chan.
The LEGO NINJAGO Movie releases in Australian cinemas on 21 September 2017.
