The second trailer has dropped for the upcoming comedy film Night School, from director Malcolm D. Lee and starring Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish.
A down-on-his-luck takeaway employee (Hart) enlists in night school to obtain his GED in order to finish high school.
There he befriends a group of fellow troublemakers, while under the tuition of their hard-nosed teacher, played by Tiffany Haddish.
Plot and tone-wise, it’s nothing we haven’t seen before, but there are laughs to be had in this new trailer.
Hart is on point playing what appears to be the same character he plays in every film he’s in these days, which works well for this film.
His comedic co-stars, that include Mary Lynn Rajskub, Romany Malco, Jacob Batalon, Taran Killam and Rob Riggle add a lot of humour to the film, making Night School a true ensemble comedy piece.
Director Malcolm D. Lee most recently directed Girls Trip (2017) and Barbershop: The Next Cut (2016), with past credits like Scary Movie 5 (2013) and Undercover Brother (2002) to his name.
His particular style of humour appears to have extended onto Night School, so fans of the director’s previous work should feel right at home here.
The film releases across cinemas on 27 September 2018.
