A villainess wants to unite the different Troll tribes by eliminating all the music in the world – except for hard rock – in the new trailer for Trolls World Tour.
Trolls Poppy (Anna Kendrick) and Branch (Justin Timberlake) come to realise that they are but one of six different troll tribes, each of which are connected to a particular genre of music.
There’s Pop, Funk, Classical, Techno, Country and Hard Rock tribes in their world, and they’ll soon uncover a plot from hard rock queen, Barb (Rachel Bloom), to destroy all other genres of music so that rock can reign supreme.
Poppy and Branch will then need to unite the Troll tribes and go up against Barb and her father King Thrash (Ozzy Osbourne) in order to save their beloved musical identities.
Trolls World Tour looks like it will focus heavily on themes of diversity and inclusivity judging by this new trailer, which should work well in educating a young audience about such matters.
The film looks quite hilarious and features a range of different musical scores from the above genres, which should make for an entertaining watch for audiences of all ages.
The characters in this film are based on the Troll doll toyline, which had a huge surge in popularity after its release in 1959 and has been in the pop culture consciousness ever since.
World Tour features a whos-who of voice talents featuring the likes James Corden, Anderson Paak, George Clinton, Mary J. Blige, Kelly Clarkson, Sam Rockwell, Ron Funches, Icona Pop, Kunal Nayyar, Jamie Dornan, J Balvin and Kenan Thompson.
The musical animated comedy film is due for release on 26 March 2020.
