Brie Larson stars in this shoot-em-up by the director of High-Rise, Ben Wheatley, and I’m still trying to figure out what the plot is.
The film doesn’t seem to have much of a plot, as it appears to simply be about a group of crims who get into a shootout after an arms-deal goes south.
There’s nothing wrong with that, as it could make for some entertaining action, something along the lines of a guilty-pleasure film.
Judging by the trailer there will definitely be plenty of action and violence, with elements of humour.
Free Fire is directed by Ben Wheatley, who most recently directed High-Rise, which I struggled to get through.
He’s definitely making a name for himself in the film world, though his movies aren’t for everyone, however it seems like Free Fire will probably be his most viewer-friendly film, which is promising, and it’s always good to see Brie Larson on-screen.
Her co-stars include a cool cast of actors like Armie Hammer, Cillian Murphy, Jack Reynor and Sharlto Copley.
The film has an undisclosed release date of some time in 2017, check out the trailer below along with the surreal poster.
IMDB Synopsis:
