When he’s not screaming “I did it for the nookie” to thousands of fans on stage, Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst spends his time making movies – terrible movies I might add.
That said, his new film, The Fanatic looks like a batshit-crazy cross between Misery (1990) and The Fan (1996), that might actually work.
Fred Durst’s third feature stars John Travolta (wearing possibly the worst wig of all time) as a stalker named Moose (why Travolta continues to turn up in projects like this is anyone’s guess, but it sure makes for an interesting watch).
The plot revolves around Moose, the number one fan of movie star Hunter Dunbar (Devon Sawa).
When he is denied the opportunity of meeting his hero, Moose enlists the help of his paparazzi pal, Leah (Ana Golja), to find out where Dunbar lives.
From there, things escalate to another level as Moose breaks into Dunbar’s sprawling Hollywood mansion and decides to make himself at home.
There’s a shot of Travolta in a Hawaiian shirt, another of him wearing a Jason mask and that’s pretty much all you need to know about this film.
The Fanatic hits theatres on 30 August 2019.
