The remake of the 90’s film Flatliners is out soon, leaving fans of the original eager to see how Hollywood’s best tell a new-age version of the classic.
The film features an outstanding cast with the likes of Ellen Page, Nina Dobrev, Diego Luna, Kiersey Clemons and James Norton. It follows in the footsteps of the 1990 original film Flatliners, that starred Kiefer Sutherland and Julia Roberts.
The film follows five medical students who are curious about the afterlife and where we go after death, so they decide to stop their hearts and see for themselves. The film shows the student’s discoveries from the other side of life, but as they delve deeper into their investigation, they find there are consequences to their actions.
The trailer shows various paranormal events starting to occur to the five students, with their sins coming back in horrific and terrifying manifestations.
The film has been labelled both a sequel and a reboot/remake, and for now it is unclear which it is, but it does seem as if it can stand alone from the 1990 movie of the same name.
Sequel or not, Flatliners looks like an entertaining psychological thriller for the science-fiction and horror fan.

The film is directed by Danish director Niels Arden Oplev and comes out on the 28 September 2017.
