Steve Coogan stars in this new satirical comedy based in the fashion world, directed by regular collaborator, Michael Winterbottom.
Coogan plays the ultra-rich Sir Richard McCreadie, the head of a retail empire whose reputation has recently been tarnished.
With his public image on the line, McCreadie feels the best solution is to host a lavish party on the Greek island of Mykonos.
Set in the fashion world, Greed satirises the absurd lifestyles of the extremely wealthy, and the methods they use to gain their riches at the expense of others.
The theme of capitalism is rampant here and it looks like a film with a potentially divisive story.
Films with themes like these always make for good debate fodder, and at the surface level, Greed looks funny and Coogan in great form.
Director Michael Winterbottom has directed Coogan in The Trip (2010-) series, all of which have been entertaining.
The pairing has proven fruitful so far and it looks like Greed will be another nice addition to the slate.
The film features a great supporting cast that includes Isla Fisher, David Mitchell, and Asa Butterfield.
See it in cinemas from 23 April 2020.
