Everything, Everything is the latest teen drama/romance film adapted from a novel, that sees its young protagonist find love under extreme adversity.
Young up-and-coming star Amandla Stenberg plays Maddy, a teenager who is allergic to the outside world.
Forced to constantly remain indoors, her way of life is turned upside down when the boy-next-door comes into town and steals her heart.
It’s an interesting story, however the film looks pretty cheesy going by its first trailer – and really would you expect anything less?
Whether or not the film is any good, it certainly seems to have the goods when it comes to hitting its target market of teenage girls.
Much like the Twilight film series and the recently released Me Before You (2016 – see my review here), Everything, Everything should be a hit in its intended demographic.
Director Stella Meghie could still surprise us here though and offer a well-developed dramatic film, one that is sure to bring out the waterworks in some people.
The film stars Amandla Stenberg, Nick Robinson and Anika Noni Rose and is due to hit Australian cinemas on 18 May 2017.
