If you’ve seen The Greasy Strangler (2016) and loved it, then there’s no doubt that An Evening with Beverly Luff Linn is on your radar.
If you haven’t seen The Greasy Strangler, then you need to watch it right now and decide whether or not you dare put AEWBLL on your must-see list.
It’s either going to be a big yes, or a big no.
The titular character is played by comedian Craig Robinson, who under mysterious circumstances is performing a one-night show that has everyone curious and on edge.
And apart from introducing all the other supporting characters, that’s about as much plot as we’re given.
Everything else seems randomly weird and kooky to say the very least.
Director Jim Hosking proved with The Greasy Strangler that he definitely has his own brand of humour and it looks to carry over into his sophomore effort.
He’s also managed to round up an impressive ensemble cast which includes Aubrey Plaza, Jermaine Clement, Emile Hirsch and Matt Berry.
So if you’re a Greasy Strangler fan or you like your movies way off centre, then An Evening with Beverly Luff Linn might just be what you’re looking for.
The film is out in theatres, on demand and digital HD on 19 October 2018.
