Eric Bana plays a big city cop who returns to his rural hometown to investigate a crime in the upcoming adaptation of The Dry.
Bana plays Aaron Falk, an Australian Federal Agent who’s called back to his rural hometown to investigate the grizzly murder-suicide of his childhood friend and family.
Painful memories are dredged up as Falk revisits his past while trying to uncover the mystery of this shocking crime.
Based on the best-selling Australian book of the same name by Jane Harper, The Dry features an intriguing premise and is filled with grounded characters.
Another thing that makes The Dry worthy reading, and viewing, is its setting.
The desolate landscape of the rural town the film is set in serves as a character of its own and sets a foundation for the sensibilities owned by the townspeople.
The first trailer for the film gives us a brief outline of the plot while introducing us to Bana’s character.
Other than that, it’s mostly filled with visual cues that indicate the tone, and it looks like we’ll be getting a hard drama film.
The Dry is directed by Robert Connolly and is due for release in Australian cinemas on New Year’s Day, 2021.
