The politically charged hostage drama Entebbe stars Daniel Brühl and Rosamund Pike, and comes from Elite Squad (2007) director José Padilha.
The film is based on the true story of four hijackers who took a plane hostage in 1976 and forced it to land in Entebbe, Uganda, with demands to release dozens of Palestinian terrorists.
Entebbe follows the hijackers, hostages and political leaders trying to decide whether to negotiate or send special forces in on a rescue mission to free the hostages.
Director José Padilha has done some fantastic work with the films Elite Squad and its sequel Elite Squad: The Enemy Within (2010), producing some intense crime dramas.
More recently he also directed 2 episodes of the hit Netflix series Narcos, which is an excellent, well produced and well directed crime series.
His tense style is prevalent all throughout this first trailer for Entebbe, and it looks like fans of these types of movies will be in for a treat.
Both Daniel Brühl and Rosamund Pike appear to be in top form in their roles as the hijackers, and when you combine that with the film’s suspenseful plot, then Entebbe could be a surprise hit in 2018.
There’s no official release date for it in Australia as yet, however it releases in early March 2018 in the UK.
