The new island horror movie Death of Me features plenty of disturbing imagery with a mysterious plot that will keep audiences guessing.
Maggie Q and Luke Hemsworth play Christine and Neil, a couple vacationing on a remote island in Thailand, where they wake up one morning, hungover with no recollection of the previous night’s events.
The pair find a recording on Neil’s camera with footage from the night before which shows him murdering Christine.
This sends the pair into a frenzy as they try to recount the events of the previous night, sending them on a journey into black magic island horror.
Death of Me is a new horror film from director Darren Lynn Bousman, who’s famous for directing three early entries in the Saw (2004-) franchise, as well as the upcoming, Spiral: From the Book of Saw (2021).
The director, combined with the film’s charismatic leads and the twisted, disturbingly dark story should please all horror-movie fans, especially those of the Saw films.
Death of Me looks horrifying, featuring some haunting imagery.
I couldn’t help but feel like this is what the recent Fantasy Island (2020) movie should have looked like after watching this trailer.
Maggie Q stars in both films and both are set on an island, which is where the comparison ends, as Fantasy Island is way glossier than this film, much to its detriment.
Death of Me is due for release on 2 October 2020, check out the trailer below!
