Word on the street is that a script is being written for the movie based on the popular western-themed HBO TV series, Deadwood.
Collider reports today that David Milch, the writer-creator of the show Deadwood is in the process of writing a movie script based on the show.
The news comes direct from the head of programming at HBO, Casey Bloys.
This is fantastic news if it comes to fruition, as Deadwood was one of the best shows HBO has produced, ever.
The show is based in 1870’s Deadwood, South Dakota, a town where there is no law.
Featuring amazing performances from all cast involved, but especially Ian McShane as Al Swearengen, the show only lasted three seasons but was met with high critical praise and was much loved amongst fans.
The show was cut short and in the years that have passed since then, there has been talk of movies being made on multiple occasions.
Nothing came of it though, so this latest news could of course go either way, but here’s hoping it actually gets made this time.
