Dane DeHaan stars in this upcoming psychological thriller from the director of the Pirates of the Caribbean, Gore Verbinski.
DeHaan plays a young executive sent out to retrieve his company’s CEO from a wellness centre in the Swiss Alps after hearing he may have gone insane.
He’ll soon find out that things are dangerously not what they seem.
This second trailer reveals more of the film’s plot whilst still keeping the specifics a mystery, as it will sure to be full of twists and turns.
The trailer did set the tone for the film; a psychological thriller potentially bordering on horror, and it looks intriguing.
I got a bit of a Shutter Island vibe while watching the trailer for this film, in the sense of things not being what they seem at the so-called wellness centre, while people are losing their minds and having experiments done on them etc etc.
The ‘wellness’ industry seems to have picked up steam over the last few years, so it’s perfect timing for a film like this to come out, one that puts a dark twist on the whole industry/movement.
Joining DeHaan in the film is Jason Isaacs and Mia Goth, and it’s directed by Gore Verbinski, who is probably best known to audiences as the director of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003), but of course he had ventured into horror territory before that with The Ring in 2002.
The film is due out on 17 February 2017 in the USA, check out the 2nd trailer below.
