The trailer for the new Will Smith drama Collateral Beauty has been released, featuring an all star cast which includes Edward Norton and Helen Mirren.
Judging by this trailer, I can’t tell yet whether or not this film will be brilliant, or a cringeworthy mess, as the concept seems a bit cheesy to me.
Either way, it appears the film is designed to pull at the heartstrings of viewers and it looks like it could hit the mark in that regard, however going by the trailer, it all feels a bit too on the nose for my liking.
The official synopsis for the film is as follows:
When a successful New York ad executive suffers a personal tragedy and retreats from life, his friends devise a drastic plan to reach him before he loses everything. Pushing him to the very edge, they force him to confront the truth in surprising and profoundly human ways.
The film comes to us from Oscar-winning director David Frankel and features an outstanding cast which includes Will Smith in the lead, Edward Norton, Keira Knightley, Michael Peña, Naomie Harris, Jacob Latimore, Kate Winslet and Helen Mirren.
The film could very well be worth seeing for that cast alone and we’ll get to judge it for ourselves when Collateral Beauty hits Australian cinemas on February 2, 2017.
IMDB Synopsis:
A tragic event sends a New York ad man on a downward spiral.
