Prepare to see Martin Freeman face-off against the undead in the post-apocalyptic thriller Cargo, set in Outback Australia.
From the producers of The Babadook (2014), Cargo is an emotional story that takes a fresh and heart-breaking bite out of the zombie genre.
With only 48 hours before a freakish infection transforms him, a determined father (Freeman) hatches a plan to find guardians who can protect his infant daughter.
His best chance – to journey with a young indigenous girl to a thriving Aboriginal community.
But safe passage for those afflicted is not readily granted.
This highly anticipated feature film from Yolanda Ramke and Ben Howling expands on their Tropfest-finalist short of the same name.
Since its release in 2013, the short film has garnered widespread attention with over 14 million YouTube views.
The feature was picked up by Netflix for international release but (lucky for us Aussies) Umbrella Entertainment will release the film theatrically in Australia.
Those in Oz who prefer streaming will have to wait six months.
So, get ready to support home-grown talent on the big screen when Cargo releases in cinemas on 17 May 2018.
