Hold onto your capes everybody, the world’s favourite superhero family, The Incredibles are back and set to return to the big screen in June of 2018 with Incredibles 2.
This long-awaited sequel will be released a whopping 14 years after its predecessor, The Incredibles (2004).
Elastigirl (Holly Hunter), Mr. Incredible’s (Craig T. Nelson) wife and mother of three (Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack – played by Sarah Vowell, Huck Milner and unknown respectively) goes out to save the world, leaving her husband behind to care for the children.
Though the trailer doesn’t give away much regarding the actual plot of the film, it does give us a glimpse into Jack-Jack’s powers, and they are almighty.
Mr. Incredible faces the brunt of his youngest son’s powers and only narrowly avoids taking a laser beam to the face.
However, it is clear that he is overjoyed for Jack-Jack and proud of his superpowers.
It will be interesting to see where the film goes and how their relationship progresses throughout.
The Incredibles was a family favourite back in 2004 and hopefully the same will ring true for its sequel.
Directed and written by Brad Bird, Incredibles 2 is due in cinemas on 14 June 2018.
