Check out the first official full trailer for the WW2 drama Allied, starring Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard, directed by Robert Zemeckis.
It feels like films based in World War 2 have been done to death at this stage, making you wonder what stories are left to cover in that period of world history?
Thankfully Allied looks like it will deliver a fresh approach to a war-time film – well fresh in that it doesn’t look like your typical allied-forces vs. nazis film.
Rather, the film focuses on the relationship between Brad Pitt’s and Marion Cotillard’s husband and wife characters, but more specifically, the fallout that follows an accusation that Cotillard’s character is actually a double agent and Pitt’s character is then forced to find out and reveal the truth, which may have severe consequences for them both.
Judging by the first official trailer, it looks like we’ll get a bit more of a personal story set on the backdrop of WW2, along with plenty of action and it really does look thrilling.
Director Robert Zemeckis is a legend in the industry and has the credentials to produce a quality film.
Couple that with the excellent casting of Pitt and Cotillard, along with their co-stars Jared Harris, Matthew Goode and Lizzy Caplan, and we should be in for a treat with this film.
Allied hits Australian cinemas on 26 December 2016.
