Second Trailer for Quirky Crime Caper ‘Suburbicon’ Starring Matt Damon

The film is directed by George Clooney, from a script by the Coen brothers, and stars Matt Damon, Oscar Isaac and Julianne Moore.

If that’s not a winning combo, then I don’t know what is.

A well-to-do suburbanite (Matt Damon) gets in over his head with the local mafia, after his wife is killed in a home invasion.

However as with all of the Coen brothers’ films, there is a lot more to the story.

The new trailer below suggests that Damon’s character may have some involvement in the crime himself, in an effort to exploit his wife’s life insurance policy.

Suburbicon appears to contain elements from several of the Coen brothers’ past films, such as Blood Simple (1984), Miller’s Crossing (1990) and Fargo (1996).

All of those are amazing films, so if the writing/directing team of the Coen’s and George Clooney can hit the mark with the story they want to tell, then this film could make for an instant classic.

On paper it has all the elements to become one, and judging by the two trailers released so far, it certainly looks like a quirky, entertaining ride.

Check out the trailer below and let us know your thoughts in the comments, and what your favourite Coen brothers film is.
