Day 2 of NYCC gave us new trailers for Power Rangers and The Great Wall, along with a new trailer and poster for John Wick: Chapter 2!
NYCC just had its second day of events, and with it has come highly anticipated material which you can see below.
Power Rangers – First Teaser Trailer
The long awaited first teaser trailer for the upcoming Power Rangers film was released, and it may not be what you were expecting.
Or is it?
The film looks like it will be a grounded take on the source material, in comparison to the TV show’s over-the-top style.
We don’t get to see too much in this new teaser, however I think they’ve hit the mark with the tone they’re trying to set for the upcoming film.
John Wick: Chapter 2 – First Teaser Trailer & New Poster
The fan-favourite film John Wick had a sequel green-lit not long after its initial release, and we got the first teaser trailer for it at day 2 of NYCC.
It’s good to see Keanu Reeves leading another franchise, in what’s been a bit of a career resurgence for the actor lately.
As expected, John Wick: Chapter 2 looks to be action-packed and very stylish, much like the first film.
An awesome new poster was revealed along with the trailer and you can see both below.
The Great Wall – New Trailer
The film at the most recent whitewashing casting controversy gets a second trailer, which gives away a little bit more of the plot and a look at the type of tone the filmmakers are trying to set for the film.
It all looks like a bit of silly fun and it makes me wonder what Matt Damon, Willem Dafoe and Pedro Pascal are doing in this film.
It’s not because they’re not Chinese (ok it might be), but rather that it looks like this film is destined for failure, and it’s strange that actors of their calibre are involved with it.
The promising thing about this film is that it’s directed by Zhang Yimou, the director of 2004’s House of Flying Daggers, so at the very least this film should look amazing from a visual standpoint.
