A trailer for the upcoming film The Handmaiden, by the one of the best working directors today, Park Chan-Wook has been released.
To call this a trailer is a bit of a stretch as it’s only a minute long and is only a sequence of quick images from the film cut together to a creepy soundtrack.
It does however relay what type of tone the film will be going for, which fits true to the director’s style and looks amazing.
Korean director Park Chan-Wook has a bevy of fantastic films to his credit, including Oldboy, Thirst and Stoker – his first English language film which was completely underrated.
His work is that good that you could call him a modern day Hitchcock, if Hitch was a bit mentally unstable.
Chan-Wook’s film’s have a tendency to lean towards the violent and disturbing, but are all thrilling and must-see viewing for film fans.
The Handmaiden is screening at the Melbourne International Film Festival soon and tickets have pretty much sold out, however you may be able to get some on the day as they tend to release some last minute tickets
IMDB Synopsis:
