Real-life couple Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn play Mr. and Mrs. Claus in the upcoming Netflix sequel film, The Christmas Chronicles 2.
The film also sees the return of The Christmas Chronicles’ (2018) young protagonists Kate (Darby Camp) and Teddy (Judah Lewis), with new characters Jack (Jahzir Bruno) and Belsnickel (Julian Dennison) rounding out the cast.
In this sequel, Kate and Jack are thrust into an adventure with Mr. and Mrs. Claus to save Christmas from being ruined forever, after the holiday-hating Belsnickel steals a magical star from Santa Claus’s tree.
The Christmas Chronicles 2 looks like a lot of fun, and the perfect fantasy adventure film that the whole family can get behind over the festive season.
Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn make a great on-screen duo, with their real-life chemistry filtering through to their performances in a natural fashion.
Kiwi standout Julian Dennison adds another great element to the cast, with the young star showing exceptional promise after his work in Hunt for the Wilderpeople (2016) and Deadpool 2 (2018).
This new sequel also brings with it some serious talent behind the scenes, with Chris Columbus, the director of Home Alone (1990), Home Alone 2 (1992), Mrs. Doubtfire (1993), and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (2001) at the helm.
The Christmas Chronicles 2 arrives exclusively on Netflix on 25 November 2020.
