Leonardo DiCaprio leads an all-star cast in the full first trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s highly anticipated ninth film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
DiCaprio plays Rick Dalton, a famous actor who appears to be nearing the end of his popularity, almost to the point of being irrelevant in the industry.
Brad Pitt plays Dalton’s stunt double Cliff Booth, who has been with him for a long time it seems, and whose lives are interconnected through their work.
Margot Robbie plays the deceased, real-life actress, Sharon Tate, with Australian actor Damon Herriman starring as the notorious cult leader Charles Manson.
Manson gets some screentime in this trailer as opposed to hardly any in the film’s teaser, as the Tate murders are hinted at as being part of the film’s plot.
Aside from the above, we aren’t given much else except for a look at some of the many characters in the film and the tone Tarantino has gone for.
The production design on Once Upon a Time in Hollywood looks outstanding and being a Tarantino film, we can be sure to expect plenty of witty dialogue and the signature violence the director’s movies are known for.
This is all expected, but not shown in the trailer, which should make it that much more intriguing for audiences.
We’ll find out more when the film releases on 15 August 2019.
