The highly anticipated teaser trailer for Episode IX in the Star Wars saga, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has arrived!
The teaser trailer features Rey (Daisy Ridley) dealing some acrobatic Jedi power on an incoming imperial Tie Fighter with her trusty blue lightsaber in hand.
It then moves on to give us glimpses of the other regular characters from the film in various intergalactic locations.
The entire gang from The Force Awakens (2015) and The Last Jedi (2017) are back, as well as some new (to this trilogy) faces and voices.
Billy Dee Williams is back to reprise his role as Lando Calrissian and we get to see (or rather, hear) the voice of Star Wars‘ big bad, Emperor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid).
Having the Emperor return was a bit of a surprise, though one that felt inevitable, as none of the main Jedi/Sith characters in the Star Wars saga are ever truly gone.
The only thing missing from this teaser is Darth Vader, who I’m sure will have a piece in the final product.
The Rise of Skywalker features everything fans could have hoped for and its arrival has only further built up the anticipation of this final film in the long-standing saga.
It’s due out in cinemas on 19 December 2019, check out the awesome teaser below!
