Jeffrey Wright and Alexander Skarsgård star in the upcoming thriller Hold the Dark, set in the treacherous Alaskan wilderness.
A retired wolf expert (Wright) is called upon by the mother of a missing child to investigate the child’s disappearance.
The likely suspect – an Alaskan wolf.
As you’ll see in the trailer, however, there is a lot more to this story than the basic premise above.
Riley Keough plays the worried mother, whose husband (Alexander Skarsgård) is off fighting in a war when the child disappears.
The trailer seems to indicate that she’s afraid of her husband and that there is a very real human involvement in the mystery behind the missing child.
All of this set to some seriously thrilling pacing.
The film is directed by Jeremy Saulnier; a relative newcomer with a couple of dark thrillers to his name already, including 2013’s Blue Ruin and 2015’s Green Room.
Hold the Dark appears to fit right in with the director’s preferred style, so fans of psychological thrillers should be in for a treat here.
The film premieres on 28 September 2018, only on Netflix
