The word on the street is that Tom Cruise is in talks to appear in Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming film about the Charles Manson murders.
Tarantino’s next film is set to be based (somewhat) around the Charles Manson murders of the late 60’s/70’s period, and the latest casting rumour has it that Tom Cruise may be joining the project in a lead role.
If it happens, it would be the first time the two industry juggernauts would have joined forces for a film together.
Tarnatino is well known for selecting A-grade talent for his feature films, be it A-list stars or C-list stars, the ensemble of actors in his films are always one of the biggest highlights.
Adding Tom Cruise to the already super-impressive potential cast list that includes Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio, could make this QT’s finest ensemble to date.
I’m a big fan of both Cruise and Tarantino, so this pairing is fantastic news should it go ahead.
The latest news indicates that the film is currently being shopped around all the major studios, with Warner Bros., Sony and Paramount being the frontrunners to win the production rights.
Tarantino has been forced to shop his film around to the big studios ever since his regular studio, Miramax/The Weinstein company was embroiled in a massive Hollywood scandal recently.
Wherever the film ends up, we can be sure that Tarantino will have the option to see his vision for the film through to the end, without much studio meddling, as he’s not the type to be pressured down by studio political correctness.
The film will likely shoot next year for a 2019 release.
