Trailer for Thrilling Art World Drama ‘The Burnt Orange Heresy’

The Burnt Orange Heresy trailer

The Burnt Orange Heresy sees an ambitious art critic attempt to steal a rare painting from a famous painter, when things spiral out of control.

Claes Bang stars as an art critic who is presented an opportunity to steal a painting from a reclusive, world-famous artist.

With a new love interest by his side, he’ll have to be careful not to let his greed and ambition get in the way of the job, a task that proves easier said than done.

The film looks genuinely tense based on the trailer below, and features superb casting with Bang and Australian Elizabeth Debicki in the lead roles.

Donald Sutherland and in what felt like a surprise addition, Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones feature in supporting roles.

The Burnt Orange Heresy will be Jagger’s first credited appearance in close to ten years, having last appeared in 2001’s The Man from Elysian Fields.

Claes Bang recently rose to fame in the Western world following his appearance as Dracula in the popular Netflix series of the same name, as he looks to further broaden his appeal with a lead role in this film.

Elizabeth Debicki has been steadily rising through the Hollywood ranks, having featured in such films as The Great Gatsby (2013), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), and Widows (2018), and has what appears to be a prominent role in the upcoming Chris Nolan film, Tenet.

Donald Sutherland’s repertoire in film speaks for itself, as he rounds out the impressive cast.

The casting in The Burnt Orange Heresy is undeniably great, so we’ll just need to see if director Giuseppe Capotondi can keep audiences engaged with some gripping storytelling when the film arrives in select theatres from 23 July 2020.
