The world’s most popular macabre family hits the road to see the sights in the new animated sequel, The Addams Family 2.
Morticia (Charlize Theron) and Gomez (Oscar Isaac) decide to take their family on a trip around America to regain a fading bond with their teenage kids, Wednesday (Chloë Grace Moretz) and Pugsley (Javon ‘Wanna’ Walton).
Fellow family members Uncle Fester (Nick Kroll) and cousin IT (Snoop Dogg) join them as they embark on a cross country trip full of ghastly adventures.
The new sequel follows the reintroduction of The Addams Family back into public consciousness after their first animated film outing in 2019, which wasn’t well-received by critics, but the fans seemed to enjoy it.
The principal cast reprises their voice roles, and they’re joined by new additions Bill Hader, Wallace Shawn, and Bette Midler in supporting roles.
The Addams Family 2 looks like fun and features plenty of humour alongside a coming-of-age theme, following in the former film’s footsteps.
The animation is kooky, a lot like the titular family, and makes for a nice change of pace from the style of Disney and Pixar, which dominate the space.
The Addams Family 2 is due on 6 January 2022.
