Check out the first teaser trailer for Sony Pictures’ upcoming animated feature film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, featuring some cool art direction.
The first teaser for this animated feature doesn’t give much away in terms of plot, however we can see that it’s set in the ‘Spider-verse’, a world where multiple Spider-Men exist.
The film’s protagonist is the Miles Morales version of Spider-Man, who was first introduced in the comics back in 2011 to replace Peter Parker.
But as you’ll see in the below teaser, it looks as though Parker is still around, along with other Spider-Men from alternate universes.
The teaser mostly serves as a vehicle to show off the film’s cool art direction, which is a unique take for a film that features the web crawler.
It also looks like it was specifically designed that way to enhance its 3D release, and it appears to work well.
Into the Spider-Verse features the voices of Liev Schreiber and Oscar Winner Mahershala Ali, along with Shameik Moore in the lead as Morales.
While the official plot is still under wraps, we know the film will be due out on 26 December 2018.
This would be the first feature-length animated film based on the popular Marvel character, and it looks like it could be a smart move for Sony Pictures, who have had mixed success with their live-action films.
Thankfully Sony teamed up with Marvel this year to bring us Spider-Man: Homecoming, which was fantastic, so if you enjoyed that then I’m sure you’ll enjoy this also.
