The first teaser trailer for Disney’s live-action Aladdin remake from director Guy Ritchie and starring Will Smith has landed!

Equal parts magical and mysterious, the new teaser trailer doesn’t give much away but does give us our breathtaking first look at the fictional city of Agrabah.

And be sure to watch through to the end for an exciting first glimpse of the titular character and the infamous magic lamp.

Based on the 1992 animated classic, Aladdin is the tale of the charming street rat Aladdin, the courageous and self-determined Princess Jasmine and the Genie who may be the key to their future.

Directed by Guy Ritchie of Snatch (2000), the Sherlock Holmes (2009-11) films and King Arthur (2017) fame, Aladdin stars Will Smith as Genie (famously voiced by Robin Williams in the original animation).

Mena Massoud plays the title character Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine, Marwan Kenzari as Jafar, and Navid Negahban as the Sultan.

Aladdin is just the next in line in a series of live-action Disney remakes, with the likes of Dumbo, The Lion King, Mulan and Lilo & Stitch all in the studio’s upcoming pipeline.

The film hits theatres on 24 May 2019.

A film tragic from way back, the only thing I love more than watching movies is writing about them! Deserted Island Movie Collection: I'd take David Fincher's catalogue of films for sure. No one sucks me into the world of the film quite like Fincher does. Best Movie Snack: Chocolate, without a doubt!
