Disney’s live-action remake of the classic animation The Lion King gets its first full trailer and it features some very impressive visuals.
Jon Favreau directs the live-action remake of Disney’s beloved 1994 classic and it appears this new rendition will keep the original storyline.
The lion cub Simba (Donald Glover) is forced away from his home after the death of his father and so begins a journey of self-discovery, while meeting some peculiar characters on the way.
Simba’s ultimate goal – to meet his destiny as the true King of the jungle.
The Lion King (1994) would go on to become one of Disney’s most loved animated films, featuring a story that stands the test of time and is relatable on a universal scale.
If Disney and Favreau have in fact made this new version a shot-for-shot remake of the original, then it should be a hit for them again.
The 2019 version of the film features some beautiful visuals that some may argue don’t look real or are off-putting (as has been the case with some past films that feature talking animals), however, it looks as though the creative team behind this one have nailed that aspect.
The film features an impressive voice cast that includes Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Alfre Woodard, Billy Eichner, John Kani, John Oliver, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, and James Earl Jones, with Earl Jones reprising his role as Mufasa from the original film.
It’s due out in cinemas on 18 July 2019, check out the trailer below!
