A boy becomes best friends with a defective robot in the new animated family film Ron’s Gone Wrong from 20th Century Studios (Disney).
Despite coming from animation house Locksmith Animation, Ron’s Gone Wrong retains all of the charm you could expect from a Disney production, which should please fans.
In the film, a young boy, Barney (Jack Dylan Grazer), is gifted a friendly robot with a slight malfunction.
The robot essentially has a mind of its own, and the pair go on a hilarious adventure as they learn the true value of friendship on the way.
It’s a classic friendship story that we’ve seen many times over in kids animated films, however, it’s a timely one that’s set in the current technological age where everyone is glued to their smart devices.
Naturally, the film takes it one step further by giving its protagonist a device to become best friends with.
There’s a touch of The Mitchells vs the Machines (2021) in this film minus the robot apocalypse, which is a good sign considering Mitchells was a great film and a hit for Netflix.
Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms and Olivia Colman feature in supporting voice roles and you can see Ron’s Gone Wrong is in cinemas soon.
